Surprise Pickleball Courts Postponed

At the June 26th Surprise City Council Meeting, the construction of the city pickleball courts was postponed until additional funds could be identified via either a general obligation bond or other source; therefore,

ASO is looking for venues for 2009 and 2010 Pickleball

The office needs you!

Arizona Senior Olympics is looking for people willing to serve on the ASO office team.

Those who serve will receive training in the following skills:

Computer data input
Telephone answering
Filing
Making calls to athletes
Helping with mailings

There is a need for 20 volunteers who can five 4 hours each week in the office.

Tentative 2009 schedule (based on wrap-up meeting for 2008 and assuming a single venue of 12 courts):

Fri Feb. 27	Men's and Women's - Singles	All
Sat Feb. 28	Makeup day in case of bad weather. In the event of rain, we will not shift the schedule but makeup the play on Saturday.

All Gold Medal matches will be played on the day of the event; NOT on a separate day.
Event age groups with 14 or more players will be divided into an A and B groups based on seedings. There will not be a qualifying round for these groups. Each group will receive a set of medals

ENTRY REGULATIONS:

Competition will be in five year age groups beginning at 50-54, except Masters events which will be 50-64, and the Legends events, which will be 65+.
Players can enter only one age group in each event, in addition to either a Masters or Legends event.
In all doubles competitions age is determined by age of youngest partner.
Double elimination play in all groups which have three of more entries.
Groups with 14 or more entries will be divided into A and B groups based on the player seedings.
Entries in all groups and events will be seeded by the Players Committee.
All schedules, time of play and results will be posted on www.asopickleball.org.
